23# WOW!!!
Wow! I can't believe I actually managed to get through all 23 "things". Most I found interesting, some like Technorati I probably won't ever use again. Loved playing with Flickr, Image Generators, Library Thing, Podcasts and the downloadable audio books. I am thrilled that I can actually create a blog and feel I am one up on my children! At the beginning of this exercise I was quite tentative but have gained so much confidence in exploring all this new technology. I am sure that I will be able to make use of at least some of the things I have learned in these past few weeks. Many thanks to the staff who gave me a helping hand in the few weeks I had before I had to go it alone(on holidays). I am even more pleased with myself that I have finished the majority of the work "alone"!!
22#Downloadable Audio books
I loved exploring the World EBook fair site- enjoyed listening to poetry readings "Alone" by Edgar Allan Poe and a new one for me "When Lilacs last in the Dooryard Bloom'd by Walt Whitman-- so much better listening to poetry than reading yourself. Great for finding unusual or out of print material- nice to get something free too.

21#Podcasts
I have to use podcasts on home PC as I can't access them at work!!! Great for catching up on missed Radio programmes- also familiar with using iTunes for sampling various musicians. Think using Podcasts on Library website might be a good move to advertise particular events etc- sometimes people react more to sound than nreading od text messages.
20# YouTube
Like lots of people I find YouTube fascinating, lots of interesting video clips, lots of fun. I especially like the TV promos-especially one of my favourites Little Britain. I am a bit concerned over some of the more dubious clips and wonder where all this technolgy will end up

#19Web 2.0 awards
I had a quick look at Lulu.com-would be great if only I had some creative juices to use this site.
I also enjoyed playing around with the Care 2 site-finding sites with petitions to sign was quite easy and I had a bit of fun creating my own petition-only trouble is I can't find where it went! so I won't advertise it until I can find it. Once again to use it you have to sign in and I am sick of signing in, passwords etc.

#18 Zoho Writer
Have just had a little play with Zoho- isn't it great that it is free especially if you don"t have Word on your home computer.

#16 Wikki
Using Wikki for book reviews is a great idea-however much of this work seems to be quite time consuming and more suitable for use at home. My major concern with Wikkis is that the information may not be accurate - students would need to be acutely aware of this when researching for assignments.

#15 Library2.0
Wow- now this I did find exciting. I particularly enjoyed reading the "Away from Icebergs" article especially the 1st point-"the just in case collection". After many years adhering to this way of thinking I have over the past 6-7 years felt that we need to take a different approach to our collections. The article "to a temporary place in time" raised some issues regarding the community service aspect which is particularly relevant to the future direction of our library service. Great stuff.
#14 Technorati
I found Technorati dull and boring and didn't feel like wasting time exploring it further

#8 & 9 RSS and feeds
Great to access information minus unsolicited advertising- however I seem to have spent and incredible amount of time subscribing to different feeds!

#7 Technology
Technology is great unless you live in the sticks and have to put up with a satellite phone for months- no cellphone reception or landline. This also means no Internet which makes for a very cranky husband!
